Im planning a trip to Asia in 12 months and I'm just beginning my research.

I think I have decided to stop for a while and teach in Vietnam. So maybe you guys could help me with some preliminary questions??

1) The Visa situation - I just read a thread that was admittedly very confusing.


Some info about me:
-My first issue will be the 3-month tourist visa.
-I'll be arriving in Vietnam as a tourist.
-After a month or two I will make the decision whether or not I wish to stay a while and teach.
-I have no timetable to return so periods of stay could be anything, 3 months, 9 months, 3 years. Doesnt matter, just whatever I want.
- I will have completed my Bachelor's degree and a CELTA cert before I arrive.

What would the situation mean to me? What would I need to pursue in terms of Visas, depending on how long I stay?

2) The work situation -

Is it still as good as advertised? According to all the guidebooks, Vietnam is basically the holy grail of TEFLers. Is work as readily available as it seems? Could I arrive and seek work, and find it easily with a degree and CELTA?

3) I'm still wondering if I should seek my CELTA while IN Vietnam (or Thailand). Any thoughts on that?
