What was the departure date? OR better yet how many days did they give you to pack-up and bug out.

He left today. They really didn't have much choice as classes begin Sunday.

Visa was approved Tuesday. We advised employer later that day. They said to wait until we had tracking number for the visa. As soon as we had that (a few hours later) we advised them and by the next am we were advised that an e-ticket had been purchased. They had wanted him to leave Thursday, but he asked for Friday instead and they acquiesced.

Overall, I think they were as reasonable as they could be.

Hmmm, that's the most poetic use of English I've seen for the visa process....

Visa Infused In(to) Passport....

it sound so much more civilised than the actual process is!

Once the visa has been issued, employers are usually quite efficient about getting your flights. Of course, if you want to travel soon and your flight is fully booked, you may have to be put on a waiting list. Some employers have good 'wasta' which means you can be bumped up the list pretty promptly. Some, not all.
