Hi,
I have a few questions I hope someone can answer~..
Is it possible to fly into China on a one way ticket? Or do you need to show an outbound ticket?
Is it possible to change your visa type, from a tourist visa to an employment visa without leaving the country?
Thank you in advance! |

I've never known anyone that needed to show proof of onward journey. In most countries this is only a concern for those arriving from very poor areas who might decide they like this new place better and not want to leave! I've always arrived on one way tickets.
Regarding changing from an L to Z in country, it is "possible" but it seems to be a rare occurrence. Whether this can be done depends on your location, and probably the connections your school has. Most need to go to HK to change visa types. |

Question #1 Yes, not a problem.
Question #2 it ALL depends upon the connections the guy that is processing your visa has with the police, and the time of year. Some people can pull it off, others will send you on an all exspenses paid trip to hongkong/mongolia/south korea. |

proof of onward journey is usually only a concern at the point of origin of your flight, and then it only seems to be a rule observed by north american and european carriers. if these airlines allow you on the flight and for some reason you're denied entry at the destination, they can be liable for flying you back to where you came from. thus, some airlines take added precautions.
in asia, it doesnt seem to be a problem at all, at least in my 8-9 years of flying around the region on one way and return tickets, noone has ever asked me for proof of onward travel. |
