I'd appreciate if you experienced teachers could help me.

My question is, what is the 'peak' time to do private lessons?

Do most people prefer evenings, after say 6pm, weekends or during the day? The reason I ask is because I am weighing up a job offer to teach regular work hours or a job teaching 1pm to 9pm, Monday to Fridays.

Thanks in advance....

Housewives would probably tell you anytime before or after dinner.
Business people would probably tell you before or after work.
Retirees would probably tell you anytime (unless one is a housewife preparing dinner...).

It also depends on the day of the week.

1pm - 9pm, 5 days a week? That's a pretty awesome job offer. Where are you based?

Not based anywhere yet, but these jobs are in Korea.

So if I want private work I'll have to go for the day job I guess. Bummer, I liked the idea of 1-9

early morning for businesspeople.
Afterschool for kids
nights for businesspeople

One quick thing, there's a Korean forum, but I'll just say these, teaching privates, unless you've got a special visa, is illegal.

Personally, I'd rather start early and finish around 4pm.

I know they are illegal and I hadn't mentioned Korea until I was asked. I was more looking to get an idea overall whether it be Korea, China or wherever.

This is good to know. I think it's best to suck it up and work 'regular' hours and have room for privates later in the afternoon/night.
