Hi all

I was wondering what the prospects are for a British teacher to work in the US.

I have a Bachelors degree and CELTA certificate, with 4 years working in EFL.

I would be willing to work anywhere, from a private language school to a community college or university. I know visa rules are strict for the US, but are there any options?

Thanks all

Alan

I'm not sure how Chancellor's link is relevant...

I think you'll find that the job market is pretty saturated in general - lots and lots of qualified US teachers around looking for work.

The European teachers I know who have worked in the US all had very high-level specialist qualifications. I think with just a BA and a CELTA your chances are very, very slim.

The relevance is that it's about working in the US, just like this thread. Notice I said that SOME of the original poster's query might be answered there. Mad
