|
|
As far as Asia goes. I have only been in Japan and I have a few genuine culture questions.
Taking off shoes
Japan is famous for taking their shoes off before they enter a house etc. Is this done in Korea? China?
Bowing
Again, Japan is famous for doing this, are there any differences between the asian countries?
any other big differences without getting into who is better/worse (not my intention) |

The Korea boards are full of this; remember, Asia is a biiiiiggggggg place - lots of countries, lots of cultures & subcultures. And the urban-rural things figure heavily here, too.
In Korea, yep, lots of places people remove shoes - almost all Korean homes I know; many restaurants (not fast food) it is done, or they have shoes on & shoes off sections. But other places, like museums, nope.
Bowing tends (again, people & situation-dependent) in Korea to be shorter and not as much of an angle as you would see in Japan under the exact same circumstances.
Country by country, your mileage (kilometreage??? lol!) may vary... |
