I'm a final year English Literature student in the Uk. I will graduate summer '10. I plan to get my CELTA in the Uk, then head for Asia. Keep trying to work out the best country to work in, and keep changing my mind.

I will be 30 years old, male, with a CELTA and a BA, but no experience. I lived in Thailand for 18months, where I worked as an editor and writer for various websites. So I know a bit about life in Thailand, if not other parts of Asia.

Going straight to Thailand would be easy. I could get a decent job and settle right into a comfortable life in a good ap/t. Go to the gym, play football, learn thai, learn about Buddhism etc. However, would it be too easy? Isn't life about challenging yourself?

Cambodia is a mystery to me, that's why I like it. Seems like I could get a decent job there, find an okay place to live, have some interesting times. Probably more challenging to find positive things to do, but I like that sort of challenge.

Vietnam seems to offer good wages and some beautiful places to live, good students, and, again, that air of mysery. I am fascinated by the Vietnam war, and this would allow me to research this interest.

Taiwan seems cool. I am very interested in Chinese philosophy - things like the I Ching and the Tao Te Ching. Mainland China doesn't do it for me, I like the scenery in Taiwan, and the people seem cool. Money for teachers seems better there.

Seemingly, a good idea might be to get my CELTA, then head to Asia, visit the countries outlined, and see which one fits. I want to enjoy my life, not work too hard, saving money is not vital, but would be a bonus. Adventure would be great. I'd say I could travek for 6-8months before I had to find a job.

So, yet another vague question, but please advise me. I like: freedom, adventure, mysterious women, reading, writing, keeping busy, learning about spiritual stuff, and living. It really helps to get this stuff out, just to clarify it in my mind. Thanks for listening y'all. Peace.

Know what, I just might do that. What do you like best about it, and why should i choose it over Thailand, Nam, Taiwan etc. Money doesn't motivate me - when it does, I can go to Korea or M.East.

Is it wrong of me to want an easy life? I want to keep busy, meet good people, work, but minimise the stress.

If I rocked up in Pnomh next summer, fresh BA and CELTA in hand, looking all smart and stuff, could I get a nice job? 15-20 hours/week, enough money to live a decent life ... is that too much to ask?

MOD EDIT

Help me khmerit. I so want to try it and see, but I can't afford to take a big risk.
