Do the names "Easy English" or "Town SquareEnglish" mean anything to anyone on this board? Good companies or h"""holes?
Is it safe to assume that Beijing is an expensive city, as far as China goes and that I should not consider any jobs under say 8,000 a month? |

I know someone in Shanghai who was "hired" to work at "Easy English" on a part-time basis about 7 months ago, but, it fell through before he ever began because they didn't have enough hours.
A similar thing recently happened to him at Roundtable, but in that case he had worked there for a couple of months. It seems as if the recession has hit China as well.
Personally, my advice to anyone interested in teaching in China is to find a job at a university, high school, middle school or kindergarten that provides a free apartment. |

| Could also be mismanagement. When I was the only teacher at a fledgling new franchise, we seemed to be stalled at 45 students for a while. The guy in charge kept asking me for ideas on how to get new students. Apparently dancing and singing outside the Wenzhou Chicken Shack wasn't doing the trick like he thought. Never again... But anyway, they managed to pull through. I'm sure a lot don't. |
