hi elliot,
once upon a time, i was an EF director of studies and had a chance to get to know the above you're inquring about.
at that time, there were a couple of centers in hangzhou and both were owned by the same person, or shall i say couple. the young woman that acted as the manager and owner of both centers was just mesmerizing. her more than high intermediate english proved she could communicate quite well with her foreign staff and her visibly perfect connections with the shanghai's head office proved she was doing an excellent job there.
then, EF hangzhou served as a "role model" to all EFs around china and all were to introduce the now infamous blended learning product. yes, EF hangzhou was one of the first to use it and it also was given some really fine discounts for its students to access the site neccessary for that product. yes, students had to pay an additional charge to access that EF product
most likely no lao wai in the company would doubt that the woman was a great asset to the rusty chain of centers unwilling to cooperate with their headless office. she was like the inspiration to all the perspiring owners of other members of the chainsaw or as some claimed that she was the traitor of one country's two systems
hangzhou is a great city and as some say it offers a life of entertainment. if you're decided on the city and cannot find a suitable job there, this one may fit you. and, you'll have the chance to put your two cents into the spinnin'laundry machine that's become, according to some, the world's largest educational institution.
good luck to ya and
cheers and beers to all macEFers around the world |
