Hello -

I have been teaching in a variety of English Language schools in Asia for the last 8 years. I have a Masters in English Language Teaching from the University of Nottingham and a CELTA degree.

I am now looking to teach in Muscat, Oman. Any ideas on where to look? I'd like to start in Jan 2010 if possible.

All input would be welcome! Very Happy

Kyle

Then you best hurry and start applying to any jobs you see because January hiring has started already.

If your experience has been in Academic English, reading/writing is more stressed in the Middle East. With an MA, you might try SQU, but they don't do much hiring mid-year. If it doesn't have to be in Muscat, you could try the University of Nizwa, they often hire throughout the year. Modern College of Business and Science is one of the smaller private colleges and there is also Mazoon, which is women only. Both are in Muscat.

That covers most of the direct hire. Most Oman jobs are unfortunately recruiter based these days and all over the country with very few getting hired for Muscat. They run ads at the usual websites that google up.
