Hello,
I'm a male American teacher, 42, in the Al-Khobar area who is looking for anyone going to Jeddah, Taif, and/or Abha (or anywhere in this area) for the Hajj holidays (November 19 to December 4). I wish to share a ride and see the sights with others. Please feel free to send me a private message. Thanks. |

Not many people would drive from the eastern coast to the western coast, due to the distances involved. |

Worth driving though for the advantage of having a car when you are there. Stop off at Riyadh for a day's sightseeing. |

I think you'd be much better off hiring a car at your destination (or better yet, just getting taxis) rather than driving the width of KSA. Distances are huge and the scenery not exactly inspiring. With budget airlines like Sama and Nas now around, it's easy enough to fly between Saudi cities without paying too much. Alternatively, there's the bus (same probs as with a car, but at least someone else is driving) and the train between Khobar and Riyadh. |

Yep! Driving across the saudi-inhabited portion of the Arabian Peninsula, whilst doable, is definitely NOT for the faint-of-heart!
