|
|
Hey guys,
Ive been reading a lot about esl teachers in FE the UK having to take on new modules and that the DELTA is no longer as highly regarded as it was in the past. It seems that the British Government is pushing for QTS standard in all FE teaching and that if you work for FE in the country you must meet this new standard.
I'm reading on some forums that there's talk of revamping the DELTA to meet this new higher standard demanded by the British government.
Does anyone here know more about this as I was looking at doing the DELTA next year and will hold back if they are going to revamp/upgrade it.
Cheers for any views |

'Who recognises DELTA?
DELTA is accepted throughout the world by organisations which employ English Language teachers. The Cambridge DELTA has been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) as a Diploma in Teaching ESOL at level 5 (new NQF Level 7) on the National Qualifications Framework.'

I thought it was ridiculous with the football divisions changing the names from division 1, 2 etc to Premier League and Championship divisions but at least they were easy to understand! Looks like you need ongoing training just to understand the ever changing qualifications system, let alone keep up to date with the actual qualifications themselves! |
