Time-wise and life-situation-wise it would be best for me to get my TESOL cert at the beginnning of 2010. I'll be doing this more than likely in the Mid East and have already found a few institutions in the Mid East that offer CELTA or Trinity TESOL training in January/February.
However, I am hoping to return home for a few months to close out business here (sell or rent home, etc.), wrap up personal things, before I then move overseas to teach (again, hopefully in the Mid East.) I could, of course, wait to do the training until I'm ready to immediately start teaching afterwards but prefer to do the coursework sooner rather than later.
What downsides are there to delaying the start of teaching after I get my certificate? Do other people wait several months before they start? Is there a time limit on when these certificates are typically valid?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. |
