I have been contacted by CIEO-Canadian International Educational Organization. Has anyone had any experience with this franchise? |

I just googled them. wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
''Job Responsibilities
CIEO positions require a total of 23-25 teaching hours per week, plus 5-12 hours of additional weekly activities. You may also occasionally be asked to join in special celebrations and/or promotional activities, and training events.''''
So, 37 hours a week for 8000 and, I am guessing no holiday pay. Plus you get to pay your own rent and utilities. depending on the city, you'll be left with 5-6000.
Compare: My current job, which is by no means top of the range. 7,500 for 14 hours with 16 weeks paid holiday and sweet free accomodation. Or if you want to work those hours you can probably get 12,000 - 16,000 easy in a'better' mill.
The 2 most popular options in China seem to me uni jobs like mine - great timetable, modest pay, with the ability to augment with overtime / extras is desired. Or 40 hrs/week in a mill for a guaranteed higher income.
a combo of the best elements from those two options wuold be dreamland. What CIEO offer is a combo of the worst. Long hours, modest pay, and little free time to augment. noooooooooooooooooooooooooo |

Never work for Canadians in China. I am Canadian and wouldn't work for myself. |
