So I'm finally putting in my letter of resignation at my eikaiwa. Since I'm at a private, it's not like I hand it to a secretary. I give it directly to my boss. I'm expecting a lot of crap to head my way because of this (as much as I want to keep things professional, I doubt the boss will be), but I've been firm on this decision for about a month. I could go on and on about the problems, but again, thats not why I'm writing.

I want to know if there is anything specific I should write in my letter to the boss? As in, should I confirm at the time of resignation when my last working day would be (as according to what the contract states), and have it written in my letter? Should we both sign the letter and make a copy, so we have the same information? Anything I'm not thinking of?

Thanks for all your help everyone, I'm glad to be getting out of this situation.

I don't recall your situation, but to answer your question above, yes, you should state what is to be your last working day. How else will they know? Other than that, keep a copy for yourself.

Thanks for the replies! I've never put in a letter of resignation before, so now I have a clear image in my head. Thanks!
