I applied for and was hoping to be hired for the semester starting Feb 1st. I havent been offered a contract. I would like to know what the deadline is for contracts for the Semester starting Feb 1st? That is, if they dont offer me one by date XXX, then it wont happen until next summer at the earliest. |

Whose deadline is it?
You haven't even told us who "they" are or else whom you have applied to for a job, so it makes matters challenging for fellow posters to give you any help or hints regarding this matter.
You need to give us more specific information! |

All HCT contracts end July 31 regardless of hire date. If hired in August then 3 years later, if hired for Jan/Feb then 3.5 years later. |

That's right.
Three years but the first is probation. Unless you're a real dud, most people make it. HCT is being more cautious now about staff, it needs to retain the people it has, budget cuts, etc. It's more economical to keep staff than to recruit and hire new ones. |
