Is it worth it to get a job in Costa Rica through TEFL job placement (bridgetefljobs)? Are there any other tefl job placement services for Costa Rica? Or is it easy to get a job if I just show up? I have a Trinity CertTESOL, a university degree, and am American.

Also, I would prefer not working in the San Jose area. Are there jobs in other places? And when would be the best time to arrive?

I don't know anything about the placement things, but the short answers to your questions are:

1) is it easy to get a job if I just show up?

Yes. If you read around the forum a bit you will find a lot of information about this.

2) Are there jobs in other places?

Depends on what you mean. There are schools in Heredia and (probably) Cartago as well, but they're still part of the San Jose greater area. If you mean a beach job, it's tough.

3) when would be the best time to arrive?

Anytime except November-December is fine. Public school holidays start in mid-December and stretch till mid-February and in that period, work is scarce.
