Has anyone worked here, or is working there now?
I would like information on pay/benefits, class size, curriculum, students, etc.
If you have any information, I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Aaron

OH MY GOD ! It is a day care and I mean day care. They are not there to study but to hang out. The parents send them there to get them out of the house. University ? Please. It is a high school and a poor one at that.
The administration staff are combative and xenophobic. Run as fast as you can. |

I interviewed with them a few months ago, did a demo. Every once in awhile I get annoyed with my present employer, and test the waters out there.
Hoa Sen is, in my estimation, a crap school. They are graduating students who can't speak even at intermediate levels.
Every school will have it's own methods of appraising a teacher's qualifications, but this one takes the cake. They have this shiny new building in Dist. 3, an elevator even. The view from the top floors are stunning. That's about all I can say thats good about Hoa Sen. They assembled a hodge-podge group of volunteer students on the day of my demo, the students abilities ranged from foundation to lower intermediate, I was there to teach them business English. The observer arrived twenty minutes into a forty-five minute lesson. After the demo, someone from staff started to take my picture from afar. Very strange folks there. When they contacted me by text message, I didn't return the call.
They say that they pay up to $20 per hour, but in reality, I think thats not the case. They will be tearing down the campus off the park near Pham Gnu Lao, a new building will take three years to build. They save the shiny building in D-3 for their veteran teachers, you can expect to teach an hour away from the center, in the boondocks of HCMC, Than Binh. If you are a new teacher, you can expect much less than the advertised rate. Good luck. |
