Hi!
I will have my BA in French in May from a good US-based university, and I have my TEFL/TESOL certificate from Oxford Seminars already. I have about 5 years of experience in all kinds of teaching, from private lessons to group lessons to teaching assistance, for all levels and age groups.
What schools in Rabat are ideal for someone looking to move there? I had an offer from Bridges, which is a new school. I'm also looking at Amideast (seems very controversial) and the American Language Center.
Can anyone offer any recent experiences, contact information, or plain old advice on approaching the job market in Morocco?
I know that it's a country where connections mean a lot, so I am curious how that affects their international hiring practices.
Thanks very much everyone!

maybe the TESOL conference in March would be a good place to go.
It will be in Boston.
A recruiter from the ALC may go.

Most jobs seem to be in Casablanca, which is the biggest city.
It is not an interesting place. Other cities are more interesting.

Rabat is a bit boring but if you really wanna go there then there are a fair number of schools: British Council being the best employer. Just google them I guess.

Thanks, guys!

So, what cities WOULD you suggest? I checked out the ALC, I'll be applying mid-winter. Amideast was actually my first choice, but reading some of the rants against it, now I'm not so sure.

What kind of conditions should I expect, work-wise? What benefits are standard, how does the salary compare to cost of living, opportunities for private lessons...

I'm researching the same thing, and this guy who's actually *from* Marrakesh says that it has the most stuff to do. I thought the same about Casablanca, but what do I know?
