I have a Tesol Cert and a PGCE(FE) History along with 20 years experience; I have been told that I need a Diploma to be a Head/Director of Studies in the UK. Is this correct? |

The simple answer to your question is "yes" if you want to get a job as a director of studies at a British Council-accredited school no matter where in the world it is located, not just the United Kingdom. |

I don't think the British Council "accredits" schools outside of the UK, does it? Apart from their own centres, I mean. I can't ever recall seeing any school outside the UK claiming British Council "accreditation", the value of which would have very limited currency anyway (for a variety of reasons). |

Thank you for those links; yes the BC has earned a deserved reputation as an incompetent and arrogant organization. |
