This might help others make decisions on where to work. I've been told the following,

IPA =22 contact hours

Princess Nur University =30

Bell=30

Do correct me if I'm wrong.

I would not teach over 20 contact hours under any situation. I have never been asked to teach in excess of 20 hours, and for the last 15 years or so, I have never taught more than 15 hours. They could not pay me enough to exceed 20 hours, especially if those hours include composition classes.

30 contact hours is insane... and completely unacceptable if it is supposedly a "university."

I'm with Xia...

At a company that pays better than the universities, I teach 24 short contact hours in a 26-hour work week. In addition, every fourth Wednesday is an off day.

I bet it is one of those hours that doesn't have 60 minutes... which is actually almost all contact hours at university level, isn't it? The places that I've taught at ranged from 45-55 minutes.

I'm at a company, as I mentioned. The contact hours that I personally come into contact with are 40 and 45 mins.

Bell = 30

Bell? Do you mean KSU? (Bell is the recruiting agency for them.) According to the job description and sample contract I've got, it's 25 hours per week.

I also heard that we'd be required to work office hours which is a pity because I like to do lesson prep in the comfort of my own home. I guess if they're now enforcing it on the male side then they'll have started enforcing it on the female side as well?

Office and prep hours are separate. Office hours is when you are in the office to attend to individual students' problems. In practice some of that time can be used for prep, but that is not what they are for.
