hey there!

i have been living in the outskirts of Tsuchiura and have been trying to do cultural things..but the other gaijin in my area are not very sociable types...

sometimes i venture into Mito but not much else goes on in this prefecture, i was curious to see who else on this forum knows what to do for a good time culturally in Ibaraki-ken...lol.

regards,

oscar-san

I keep a blog about the area, but I haven't covered much west of Toride -

www.chibaraki.wordpress.com

Anybody who would like to contribute, please pm me, Chupwa, go check something out and write about it Smile

There is so much to see and do there, especially Tsuchiura to Tsukuba. See

and

My favorite places are Tsukuba Mountain, Kasama culture crawls, and various festivals I've been in (ask around about historic recreations like Oguri Handan out at Chikusei City).

Just wanted to say that TokyoLiz's posting really helped me the other week. I needed to go to a certain temple on Mt. Tsukuba and from her links I was able to link to some other sites. The chain finally led me to the info I needed. Thanks!

i live in kashima, right on the ocean. if you want any info about ibaraki, i've done some driving and exploring in my nearly 2 years here, and i work with a lot of more experienced folks.

specifically, if you want info on local surf spots/shops i can help out. feel free to PM.

Kimsmith,

Glad you found linkage that took you to interesting things!

As I find more linkage about Ibaraki, Saitama and Chiba I'll post on the blog.
