|

I'm halfway through my CELTA certification, and my timeline is such that I would like to be leaving at the beginning of June to start teaching somewhere (!) and come back to the US for a bit in December/Jan. I have a list of places I'd like to be for that time - Chile, Argentina, Germany, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, China. Yes, i've done my research and know that Germany is nearly impossible for a newbie american, and S. America will end up costing me more money than i make.
My question is - where in the world can i go for 6 months with a job set up beforehand, where I can make enough money to live on and save a small amount? I'm not interested in Korea but open to anything else.
Thanks! |

Re: Japan
Very very very few places in Japan offer contracts for less than a year. See if you qualify for a job at Westgate Corporation. With just 6 months, you'll barely make back setup costs. |

Have you thought about just a summer job in Taiwan, or China?
Why do you have to be back in the US in Dec? |

There are a lot of summer camps, I'd look into those. |

Don't most of them require a work visa nonetheless? None that I know in Japan sponsor such visas. There might be exchange work through a university in one's homeland. |

I know that at least some jobs in China will offer 6 month contracts, though most that I hear about/see advertised tend to start during their six month contracts during the second half of the school year. If you look around, I'd say you could probably find something here. 6 month contracts in China generally only offer one way airfare, though. |
