Below is a quote from saigondoc posted under the Age Factor thread. Can someone please clarify the meaning for me? Are things really that bad out there or is this merely sarcasim???
(quote)
"I hate this secret society! Why are they trying to hide the way they do business. It's just not fair! Vietnam is a terrible place to work, nothing but liars and cheats. Get out why you still can! It's on it's way down.
Anyone posting positive things about Vietnam is a spy etc, where's Orwell when you need him."
Thanks! |

perhaps IM the poster so he/she can clarify, if you are having trouble with it. I recall the post, I think if you read the entire thread you can make a reasonable judgment as to the nature of the comment.
I do think the post was getting away from the original question relating to finding work as an older person, and into the back and forth of individual's perceptions on other aspects of the culture, the country and the work scene. It is pretty common for that to happen, as one searches for reasons and meanings and often has a hard time finding or understanding them. |
