Hey, so I just recieved my TEFL certificate mid last year and I was pumped to go overseas and start teaching, but what I didn't know was that I needed a uni degree to be able to teach in any country. Right now I am limited to two countries that I am not interested to teach in . So what I decided to do was go to university. I'm going to start this September and so I dont want to have to wait 4 years before I go overseas to teach so I would love to find a school in Spain ( Barcelona or Madrid) that would take me for a summer job ( 2 months).I also don't have a EU passport so that is another issue but I have heard that if your teaching period is just for a couple of months, that it's not a big deal to not have a EU passport. I'm wondering if anyone has any info or has previously found a job and taught JUST for the summer. Any information would be helpful! |

Hi Elle,
What I know from research is that the majority of summer camps (not sure if that is what you'd prefer) in Spain are usually a month long. I think the longest one I found online was a month and a half. Usually commencing the beginning of July. I found one in Marbella (I think- can check for you if you want) that I emailed and they said they'd hire me just for the month without a visa. Found another in Northern Spain that said I could apply but I'd have to be in the country for the interview.
My suggestion would be to search for summer camp jobs in spain in google and find email addresses and starting emailing the camps directly. At least that's what I did. There are also theatre camps in Italy that I came across that hire Canadians ... if that floats your boat? Hope this helps! And isn't too confusing! And I'd do it asap as many camps hire by the end of January. |

I did some research online and I found some good information, and alot of the sites that I came across did say that they would need me to interview in person, which probably wouldnt work seeing as how I live in Canada, . Would you be able to give me the website or the name of the company that you emailed in Marbella? Thanks a bunch. |

The thing to keep in mind is: most teaching jobs end in June so all the teachers will be looking for summer jobs. This has actually reminded me that I had something to do this evening though. |
