If you are confirmed to be in Bangkok any time in January or February, we would like to contact you privately about bringing some personal items with you from the USA. For example, certain products of Clinique makeup are not available in SE Asia, nor is my favorite organic toothpaste. Shipping them by air freight would be expensive. Please let me know how to reach you and we can order them from drugstores.com to be sent to you before your flight. We can compensate you for your help. Perhaps a good steak dinner? You'll crave that after several weeks of noodles and curry.

(Before people chime in here about fear and security alerts let me clarify that this is not a request to pack-mule a "sealed mystery box" through customs. Anyway, that type of package would traditionally go in the other direction, right? We will order the items from drugstores.com, have it sent to your home before you fly and you are welcome to inspect the contents. Just throw it in your checked baggage (obviously you can't carry on several tubes of toothpaste) and we'll make arrangements to meet you in Bangkok. Thank You
