My fiancee and I have found ourselves in a bit of a predicament. We are planning to get married in Canada in the summer of this year (she is Canadian and I am British). The contract for our current job in South Korea ends at the end of february . We were originally hoping to extend by three months to take us up to the dates that we need to be back in our respective countries to make the final preparations for the wedding, but our boss told us she can only offer us 6 months or year long contracts. So does anyone know of anywhere (on the planet) that offers 3 month contracts? We're not really looking to make any money and would be happy with somewhere where we would break even. Also a flight to the destination is not a problem as our boss owes us one from our current contract.
We both have several years teaching experience with children and are TEFL certified, I also have a Masters degree in an unrleated field.
any info would be very greatly appreciated. |

Ah, there's the rub. Factor in travel costs and other setup (rent deposit is probably the biggest), and you will be hard-pressed to break even in that short a time. Not exactly a way to start a marriage, if you don't mind my saying so.

From what I've heard/read about Korean bosses and their trustworthiness, I'd really triple check that. |

I'd double check about flights as well, employers either offer you a flight back to your home country or cash in leiu of a flight. They're not going to fly you anywhere in the world!
I'd simply skip out on looking for a job now, you've got enough on your plate with the wedding.
I'd talk to your boss again, see if you can work something out for 3 moths, it would benefit you both, maybe something like making materials, training the new teachers, etc.. |

Here's a website for short term tefl jobs. You might find something there.

It really isn't the best way . Not only are we out roughly $10000 of savings that we had already spent in our minds (insert proverb about counting chickens before they hatch) but we're down whatever we spend in those 3 months. Luckily we've just got enough to cover the costs of the wedding but we can't go back to uni this year to get the teaching qualifications we were hoping to get.
As for the flights, we've been at the school for a few years and we have an excellent foreign head teacher whose been here for years and keeps the evil hagwon director in check when need be, so i think we should be OK. |

Try Interlingua Belgorod, Russia - they do three months. |

That's why I've yet to have a wedding. We just got married civilly. four years later, we still can't afford a wedding, and probably won't. Looks like we'll be having kids first. |
