Realizing that there is no "official" answer, I must ask the question, anyway.
I'm wondering if there is an upper age limit for teachers in middle schools. I taught in a key middle school in Hangzhou for a couple of years, beginning in 2000. At the time, I was 59. No problem, seemingly.
I'm a retired, certified teacher with certifications in grades 1 - 12, secondary English, and ESL. Experienced in both the U.S. and China, my China experience began in 1990 and continued in following summers teaching Chinese English teachers and other professionals.
Now here I am at age 68, still of sound mind and body, and wondering about the possibility of teaching in the public middle schools. I would also consider teaching university level.
Although I'm qualified to teach in international schools, I'd prefer middle schools or university level because of the lighter load.
Thanks for any input. |
