I am leaving for Japan in two weeks but have more stuff to take than I can carry on the plane without going over the weight limit of 20KG.
I live in the UK. Can I send a box to Japan somehow which will get there via air and not take too long to do so? Any ideas of the costs involved in doing this?
Many thanks

Tre,
I sent a box over to Japan from N Ireland 6 years ago (alas, I am sure prices have gone up since then). It cost about 70 pounds -- I just cashed my dole cheque at the post office and handed it straight back.
I can't remember the weight of the box, but it was the maximum allowance. Check with the p.o what this is before you pack, cos they WILL make you unpack it if it is over!

Me again...
Forgot to mention that I shipped my stuff by surface mail. They said it would take 6 weeks, but in fact it took about 2. So maybe it could be a cheaper option for you even though they wouldn't be able to guarantee it could be there that quick.

Errr sorry to state the bleedin obvious but why don't you simply ask at the nearest post office seeing as you are in the UK?
Most of us on this board are in Japan and so have no idea what it costs to send things here from other places. Now, if you want to know what it costs to send stuff to the UK - that's another story. |

Hi Tre,
if all else fails you could try BAX Global....I've heard many good things about them! |
