Topic do-over! Very Happy

1) Looking for a GOOD Xmas Eve/Day buffet spread. By 'good,' I mean both in the quality & selection of items. I did Rizqun last year for Xmas day, and was pretty disappointed. Where was the ham? the turkey? the cranberry sauce???

(Yes, Gentle Readers, I know ham & turkey & giblet gravy are haram . . . that is why I am here, asking if there is any possibility here in Brunei I am unaware of. For example, the USO in Seoul offers 'normal' Xmas spreads, open to the public; I thought maybe the brits might do something similar here. Or possibly one of the other hotels, private clubs, etc.)

In Korea, there were always enough expats around to do big potlatch meals; sometimes we would have 70+ people rolling in & out of the house over Easter, T-day, Xmas, etc. Good times, those!!!

Since that isn't an option, I'm willing to drive to Seria/KB, if that is what it takes to find a 'proper' Xmas buffet. Heck, I'd go to Labuan, Miri, or even KK, if that is what it takes! As far as Santa knows, I've been a mostly good boy Wink , and I deserve a proper Xmas meal!

2) NYE 2010 - le sigh! Looks like it will have to be Borneo based. I am pretty much ruling out Brunei for NYE, based upon last year's fiasco (detailed in another thread here somewhere). If anyone has any strong opinions/previous experience about Miri vs. Kuching vs. KK for a NYE getaway (drinks, dancing, fun people)(NOT hostess~ey, 'ladies drinks,' karaoke nonsense), please do let me know where, in thread or via pm.

Regards, and best of holidays to you all! Still 3 more weeks of vaca! Very Happy

Glen
