My boyfriend and I are considering an offer from the Wuhan Bioengineering institute. My main question is what the university is like? What area of town is it in? What is Wuhan like in general? Any info would be helpful! |

wuhan is really a love hate place... some people love it for its character and rough edges.. other hate it for the same reasons.. its big its crowded, its dirty, its noisy, it language is hard on the ears, its people are often rude(mostly to each other), its backwards.. on the plus its getting better all the time, its cheap, its "real china", the people can be great, its got some culture, its a good middle point for travelling to some of the more remote places, major train crossroads, good night life, the woman are beautiful, the food is great, ton of unis here, good amount of foreigners but not too many. its really a come and see for yourself kind of city
as for the uni in question. there are really too many to remeber. i would quess its somewhere in Wuchang district.. it could be in a nice central location or could be way out in butt ..... nowhere. ill ask the wife when she gets home. |

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. The uni is located in Xinzhou district, but that means very little to me at this point as I don't know where any of the districts are! |

I had never heard of the Xinzhou District, so I googled it. Xinzhou looks very remote from Wuhan. Ha! Xinzhou literally means "new continent". Any prospective teacher there might like to know whether the school lies nearby civilization as we know it. |

The real and original Wuhan consists of 3 towns, Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang. Xinzhou didn't belong to Wuhan in the 1990s, the government gave xinzhou to wuhan for the development of the Wuhan economy. |

I figured it was on the outskirts. Does anyone have any idea how long it'll take to get into central Wuhan from there? |
