I am going to go to VN and I am wondering which city is better? Hanoi or HCM?
What im looking for is:
-clean air for my asthma
-beaches
-where there is a lot of westerners that I can meet.
-good nightlife
I am aware that the cities in VN are riddled with pollution but which is the better of these cities? |

A quick glance at a map shows that there are no beaches near Hanoi. The closest beach is 3 or more hours away, and winter weather makes the beach experience rather unpleasant. Most bars close up by 11pm under the watchful eyes of the police, restaurants even earlier. The air is often filthy, if you are asthmatic you will have to wear a mask most of the time.
Enjoy HCMC! |

From what I understand, HCMC would be pretty difficult for asthma. It might be worth it to see if you felt okay with being "near" the ocean -- in Hanoi, but, say near to Ha Long Bay -- rather than by beaches down south, in HCMC. |

Neither 'city' comes close to this description. You should try a smaller place on the coast such as Danang, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, etc.
But, if you want to teach job opportunities in those locations are pretty limited. |

Both HCM and HN have same points you are looking for. About working oppotunity, you may get more chances in HCM but less rate than in HN. I mean the salary may less than HN. |
