Hi guys

Need some advice...

Have an offer in China (my first choice) but, although initially happy with my diploma, they are now unsure if this is sufficient for them. Hopefully this will not be an issue but, if it is, I am considering my options for visas in other countries.

Here are my credentials: higher national diploma in English (2yr course from UK Uni but not a degree), a Trinity Cert TESOL (passed at merit), plenty of work experience in training and coaching staff, British and native speaker, mid-twenties. I'll be in SE asia end of Jan 2010 and my question is...

...where can I work without visa issues???

Thanks!

Some places in Thailand
Various Central Asian Countries
Russia...maybe

If you encounter issues then just apply to another school. China has such a massive ESL Industry that you are certain to find employment somewhere. Just keep in mind that you may be working in a small city north of Beijing or in Mongolia and that the temps this time of year can easily reach -20 C to -40 C in Northern China - it is more or less like Siberia. Heated houses are a bit different here - you will be cold as you adjust and school classrooms will NOT be heated.

But you will definitely get work.
