Hi, I've been offered a teaching position with a school that says they will get my work permit sorted out for me but they want a teaching certificate. Is this TESOL? I have checked out as much information on this as possible and I think the Turkish government requires a degree and a Tesol (Tefl) and a police report. Is this correct or not? I hope someone knows for sure.
Thank you. |

First of all, the best source of information of what the school wants from you is probably the school! Why don't you just ask them exactly what they want?
If it's for work permit reasons than they only need any sort of TEFL/TESOL/CELTA - it doesn't matter about the quality - only the name is important. In fact, if your degree is in English or Education you might not need a certificate.
However, I obviously don't know if the school wants you to have some sort of qualification to meet their standards. |
