Can anyone point me in the direction of summer schools going to be run in Sharjah, Ajman or Dubia this year?
I work at a school in Sharjah, I don't plan on going home for the holidays so I'm looking for something to do to pass the time. |

Most tertiary institutions don't run summer schools, some of the language schools might be looking for teachers. |

UAEU runs summer schools but that's Al Ain, not on the OP's list. Last year they were looking for people from outside UAEU to work on the High School Summer School (I think it was ADEC funded). There are also other providers who run High School Summer Schools - ask around.
I have friends who work at HCT who have stayed to do summer schools but have no idea if HCT would take on someone who doesn't have a full time postion with them. However, given that they employ adjuncts to do classes regular staff can't cover during the academic year it might be worth looking in to. |

Our younger son, who will be a rising sophomore in college, is coming to Al Ain to house/dog sit for us this summer, provided he gets the extended visa. Crazy, I know, but he wants to do this - he probably figures it will be easier than getting a real j-o-b and supporting himself this summer. He wants to take a class or two in Arabic or something this summer to keep from getting bored. HCT runs summer classes, but he can't go there since he's not an Emerati. Does UAEU allow non-Emerati visiting students in the summer? Anyone have any suggestions for courses, formal or informal, he could take in Al Ain? Thanks! |
