|
|
I am looking for a bit of help please.
I am heading to HK in the next 10 days as my application for the NET scheme has been accepted, depending on the outcomes of an interview and a writing test. They are being held on separate days and I don't seem to recall reading anything about a writing test when I first applied. Does anyone have any information as to what the writing test consists of please? I can't seem to find anything useful anywhere regarding this so was hoping that someone here might be able to shed some light on the subject.
Thanks in advance. |

Your writing seems quite strong.
Expect a question like, " How would you foster an authentic English environment at your school?"
I am sure you can answer something like that!

So you are going to HK only for the interview and test but without a job? Do you know how long you would have to wait to start working if you are successful with the interview?
When I interviewed in San Francisco I interviewed first then had to answer one question among 9 in essay format.
Do you have a teaching credential? |

It seems that there are other people being interviewed in Hong Kong around now.
If you go on to the hkpnet.org site you will see the postings from various people regarding the types of written questions to expect.
I notice judoka that you have recently done the interview but didn't help the original poster by giving any essay questions or what you yourself wrote.
If you pass the interview you probably won't be employed until August, as that is the time that most jobs become available. I don't know of many people who have been taken on mid year except those who come immediately after Christmas but there might be openings if a NET has had to leave for some reason.
Passing the interview is only the start of a very long process so be prepared to wait. |

Been offered a job in an international school starting in March so I think I am going to pass on the NET scheme this time round. The NET scheme I believe starts as of August which would mean about 6 months of no work, thus no income and also doesn't accept my son for free, which the international school will which makes a big difference. Maybe a few years down the line..... |
