Why did you move to Mxico, and how long did it take for you to learn Spanish?

1) On the run from the police
2) They speak Spanish here?

Seriously...

1) For the love of a woman
2) Difficult to say. I was communicating in about 6 months, but reasonable fluency probably took about 2 years. (I now have about 8 years 3 months here)

...hey, that last sentence is Spanglish, isn't it?

1. I'm from the Old Territories, California, so the move was quite natural: I have come to know my brothers from the South.

2. I did a one year, study abroad in Bilbao, Basque Country in 2002. I studied Castillano 5 days a week, 4 hours a day.

Since I've been here in the land of the No Mames Gueyes, I've learned many Mexicanisms. Wink (that's the whistling wink to be exact)
