I've been asked to put salary expectations on an application form, but I have NO idea what teachers at internationals earn - not even an inkling. Can anyone help? (9 years experience between ESL and secondary teaching)
Thanks |

I teach at an international school next door in Jakarta. Such schools generally pay more here than in Malaysia. But I would suggest a figure of around US$2800/month + free housing, airfares and health insurance. They will likely offer less, but better to aim a little high than low. |

Is it a "real" international school? I just checked TIE online and they don't have any jobs posted for Malaysia which is strange. Search Associates is a recruiting agency for international school positions. Once you are a member, you have access to the jobs posted on their site.
Malaysia -- International School of Kuala Lumpur
Approximate salary for BA +4 years? 35,000 MA + 8 years 44,000
Malaysia -- International School of Penang (Uplands)
Approximate salary for BA +4 years? 31,000 MA + 8 years 38,000
Malaysia -- Mont'Kiara International School, Kuala Lumpur
Approximate salary for BA +4 years? 24,000 MA + 8 years 32,000
Malaysia -- Tenby Schools Malaysia
Approximate salary for BA +4 years? 34,000 MA + 8 years 40,000
Pays look pretty low. These are US dollar amounts without the "extras". Join search if you want to know more |
