Has anyone here experienced both Oman and Kuwait? It is time for me to make some decisions. I've narrowed down my list to Kuwait and Oman.
My goal is to work for an organized school teaching at a college level or adults (not children).
While I have spoken to recruiters from both I have not committed to anyone yet but am certainly going to be asked to do so soon.

I want to contribute, be appreciated for the hard work that I'm going to put into teaching and paid decently well for it. So far it sounds like Kuwait pays more but I'm hesitant because I hear working conditions are less than pleasant at more schools than not (rumor only).

Hopefully some of you have experienced life in both places that you might share within the last few years .
Because this might make a difference...I have a solid Master's, experience and am an American blond female in my mid 50's.

Please be constructive in your responses.

As I said on your other post... if you have a related MA and some experience teaching adults, there is no need to deal with these shady recruiters. Apply directly... nor would I restrict myself to just Kuwait and Oman. There are also good university level jobs in the UAE and Qatar... that may match your stated requirements better. (if you want "organized" and to be appreciated... )

I've lived in both Oman and Kuwait... but although you have declared my 15 years of experience in the Middle East to be useless, I'll give my opinion anyway. Laughing Of those two... Oman... hands down...

Don't put words in my mouth I don't consider anyone's experience or wisdom useless. Your information may be sound wisdom while someone on the ground dealing with the situation at this moment may have insight and information that is breaking news today. Both are valuable. Directors change and I would imagine atmospheres become dynamic and new with different groups and leaders.
I posted here as well as I think that those reading this forum may not read the other forum.

It's a big decision to me about where I will spend the next year or perhaps longer. My purpose is to learn as much as possible about all places.

And I will upon your advice look at these other countries as well. I thought it would be harder to land a job in Qatar than Kuwait or Oman as I hear often about the luxuries of said country.
off to scan the net. Thanks for the PM very appreciated.
