1. Where do I go to file my taxes?
2. Where do I get the forms?
3. What do I do if my ass hat former manager refuses to give me my tax receipts, the same way she refused to sign a cancel contract agreement with me?

I have a hunch that I'm going to get a ton back...

Last year, I was taxed at 20% for more than six months and yet barely earned any money, so I ought to get nearly 100% back on my refund...

I've heard that the deadline is May 31.

1. http://www.ntact.gov.tw/EnglishWeb/EnglishFAQDetail.asp?MainDataID=2136

In Kaohsiung it is near the Cultural Centre, level 2 of the building I believe, on the left.

2. Forms? For submitting or your actual taxes you paid? Submitting you just turn up in person and they'll basically do it for you.

3. Good question Smile Then she'd get in a shit of trouble for not declaring that you paid tax. No idea here, sounds like fun though.

May 31st is the last day, if that day is on the weekend I believe they extend it to Monday. I've put mine in already. I hear Taipei gets crazy with everyone doing it last minute, but doubt you'll have any trouble here in Kaohsiung.

Thanks for that information!

So I don't need to fill out any forms, at least before going to the place you mentioned? Wow, that's easy, all I have to do is show up?

Provided you bring your passport and ARC along with your tax receipts from the previous year, there isn't anything else you need. They will give you a form and you'll probably have to write your name, address, employer details, but the actual calculation of income earned along with tax paid is usually done by whoever is serving you. They do it because it takes about 5 minutes and I would probably spend half an hour just trying to figure out which amounts to add up.

Depends on when you put it in. I put mine in May 3rd and was told I'd get it back in August. If you have yet to put yours in, I would expect you'd get it back around August as well. Kaohsiung (and probably all of Taiwan) now has the option of doing a direct wire/transfer to your Taiwan bank account, so if you have an account make sure to bring your deposit book (and probably ATM card) along with you, otherwise you'll be forced to opt for a cheque which needs to be cashed (but can be cashed the same day so no biggie in my books).

Well the government owes me 2008 and 2009. I did not file my taxes for 2008 until I was told that I need the blue paper to renew my ARC in December. I filed my 2008 tax return in December and they owe me money from 2008 as well as 2009.
