Has anyone taught at Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai? How is it? How is Zhuhai?

Thanks.

Zhuhai's a great little town with very friendly people. Apparently it's far more advanced than most of China too. I've heard good things about the university but haven't taught there. (See my post re EF Zhuhai).

It's close to Macau and only 1 hour from HK.

PS - Zhuhai's got a great nightclub called "Yesterday" which I can thoroughly recommend.

Agreed - Zhuhai is a congenial place: spacious, green, relatively unpolluted, modern housing, many conveniences, and Macau just a walk away.
I would, on the other hand, check on that school thoroughly. Maybe my alarm clock is on a false alarm, but something rings familiar:
Had an interview in Guangzhou, the opposite number was an unimaginably arrogant Pekinger on the payroll of a private business affiliated with an university in the country's capital, perhaps the same as yours.
The thing that worried me the worst - apart from our incompatible characters - was that they were hiring expats for a programme leading to students going overseas, when in fact they were not even able to offer acceptable working conditions and a legal job.

Check them out. Beijing Normal University is top-knotch. See if they can get you proper working permit etc... . Work through it.

I'd definitely check them out.

K.
