Hello everyone:
I am seeking to teach in Turkey next year and would prefer to teach adults in a university setting. I have a MEd degree in TESOL from the University of South Florida and 5 years of ESL teaching experience with both children and adults. Most of my teaching has been in the US in private and nonprofit settings, although I did spend an academic year teaching in France at a teacher's training institute.
Besides my MEd degree I have BA degrees in English and French. I have a temporary teaching certificate from the state of Florida, but have not completed the professional certificate.
Given my MEd degree and experience should I be concerned about not having a professional state sponsored certificate? Also, with my experience and qualifications, what positions am I qualified for in Turkey?
Thank you for your help! |

An MEd degree in TESOL is ideal, and could get you a good uni position. Most teachers in Turkey just have a crappy TEFL certificate and a BA/BSc.
If you havent done it already, visit a few uni websites and apply speculatively with your CV. I'd be surprised if you didnt get at least a few very interested responses |
