I've been having no luck applying by e-mail and was wondering if I had any increased chances by going to Japan and trying to get interviews at the many smaller ESL schools?
Perhaps e-mailing ESL schools beforehand to ask for the chance to interview in person.
Has anyone done this? |

Apply only to employers who advertise.
Yes, coming here will greatly enhance your possibilities. Tons of people are already here, though, so there are no guarantees, especially for entry level jobs. |

I'd be coming there on a tourist visa, but I suppose for most businesses that would be expected if coming from the USA. |

Just don't tell customs or immigration you are coming for job hunting. You're a tourist. |
