Hi,

Another post! China is a huge place, and I am having problems deciding where to go... I would like a busy place, but perhaps not much like Beijing and Shanghai.. I have looked at Chengdu thats looks a fairly happy medium.

I would like somewhere with a good expat community, good night life, a good choice of food and restaurants.. ..

Or just tell me where you are, and what is good about the place...

again would be appreciated!

ChengDu would be a good choice, the US Embassy is there and the city has a good reputation in the FT circles. I've been to Chengdu many times, the only drawback was the earthquake and rainy weather.

I would keep your choice of Chengdu. This would be my next teaching area if I returned to China.

Chinese men will tell you the best Chinese women come from the Chengdu area an added bonus if you're single. Sichuan food is famous, spicy and tasty. If you like hotter weather look at Yunnan province but Chengdu beats Kumming.
