considering that Iran and the UAE do not share a common border, and the entire persian gulf is in between them I don't see it as a problem.
Of course if you want to make comparisions.. how about any teaching positions in Japan with North Korea doing constant "missle tests?"
There are lots of places in which there is danger... I'd rather be here in RAK than in the US (particulary in cities like baltimore, washington dc, or even chicago). |

If a war broke out with Iran (gawdforfend), I would be more concerned about being in Kuwait than the UAE... but... that said, while I would stay if I were in the UAE, if I had children, I would send them home, just in case things turned bad. JMHO...

As long as you are not suspected of working with Hezbollah, or on holiday with your fiance, you should be alright in the Dubai hotels. |

The UAE is safe, as long as:
- you don't cheat anyone on a grain sale
- you aren't the owner of a famous Lebanese restaraunt
- you don't kiss your girlfriend in a taxi
Seriously, though ---- even though Iran is across the ARABIAN gulf, I haven't lost a lot of sleep about the brewing conflict.
I noticed the US is quietly relocating a lot of key staff onto the land side of the two (now three) bridges in AUH (as opposed to the island). |
