Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie--just got my CELTA. Some limited volunteer experience teaching ESL, but I love it and I'm good at it. I have an EU passport and a BA in History (as if that ever did anything for anyone...hahaha...but it does take up a line on the ol' resume). I'm hoping to move to Spain in the spring. I speak passable Spanish and would like to learn Catalan, so I'm thinking Barcelona.
From what I can see, the job market in Spain looks pretty dismal--I know I won't be able to gauge this until I get there, but for anyone on this forum in Spain (esp BCN) right now, how dismal are we talkin' here? Would the autumn be a much, much better option? What is the job market like for non-ESL jobs to tide me over during the summer? I have enough cash for 2 or 3 months of sparse living expenses, but obviously would like to start working ASAP...
What do you reckon? Any advice is helpful. Thanks for any input, this forum is really valuable for me!! Cheers
