My boyfriend and I are moving from Shanghai to HCM in August. I'm working at an international school, and getting around 600 USD for accommodation. Is this reasonable for a nice place for us to share?

For those that have been to Shanghai, how does it compare? Obviously we're both used to the hustle and bustle of big cities, but how about crime, cost of living, social life, things to do?

The expat community is not very friendly in Shanghai, hoping that Vietnam will be more laid back!
