Last September/October I was told there was a education/ foreign teacher trade show in Shenzen.

The details where sketchy.

Was there actually a FT trade show?

Did anyone go?

Somebody spill the beans.

What are the dates and location?

I have never heard of a Foreign Teacher trade show.

I imagine the 2010 models are going to be fantastic. I heard they all look like a young Brad Pitt, have a Doctorate in Linguistics and will work for 3,000 RMB per month, no housing required.

Oh, and all guaranteed under 25 years old, so plenty of service life before those telltale, "time to let him go" crow's feet appear.

Alas, once again the roll out of the Irish model was delayed due to production problems with the voice box.

Cheers to all.

My school asked me for some photo's of myself.

When I asked what they where going to do with them they said they where going to use them at FT trade show/conference/ trade show/education recruitment expo in Shenzen.

I have since asked the school how did they go finding FT's and at first said they had found two FT's.

Now they say they have found no FT's.

Makes me wonder what the school was on about.

two types of show...it could be

Job fair or school trade shows.

The Expat Show in Beijing often serves as a place to market Kid Eng-mills as well as seeking foreigners for employment with different industries, incl. education, if you want to call the mills that and a display of services/goods aimed towards the Expats.

The job fairs held in Beijing in the past have often been the lower paying of the bunch but is a way for out of towers to be exposed2 Beijing based schools but a word of warning .. many schools represented will not be from the location where the expo is held.

Didn't have much choice.

When I stalled on handing over photo's of myself they said don't worry we have some of you anyway.

I wonder what it was all about Confused

I received an email from the organisers of an event to be held on 3rd March 2010 in Shanghai. It appears to be organized by SAFEA and is specifically aimed at foreign nationals hunting jobs in China. Whilst it is not solely aimed at foreign teachers, I think there are organizations represented at this fair who are trying to recruit FT's:

LOL, that slightly brightened my extremely grim, yet-another-job-interview-rejection day over here in Taiwan.
