|
|
Hi everyone
I'm looking to work in Taiwan, hopefully within the next few months, and wonder if it's possible to get just adult classes in Khaosiung? I have a degree and TEFL, but have been told there are far fewer jobs teaching adults in KHH than Taipei (and possibly Taichung).
Do I need to bite the bullet and teach some younger kids if I want to go to Khaosiung?
Many thanks |

Yes. Adult only teaching jobs here are rare, not impossible to get but they are usually not advertised. Wall Street Institute and GVO are the only two places I know of that offer adult only classes (Berlitz does but you won't get a full schedule there). Stick to Taipei if you want adult only classes and even then you won't have many options. David's and probably a few others only. Sad to say but there isn't much adult work teaching in Taiwan, unless you have connections because the majority of jobs advertised are for kindy or cram schools. |

OK thanks Creztor. Maybe I'll try younger classes then, or a mixture. I think I'll try and do a distance diploma at the same time, to try to get into universities.. hmm. .but maybye need a PGCE from the UK... I'll see, because I don't think I can handle being in Britain for another year!
Thanks |
