On BBC World today (Sunday) at 6:10 pm.

Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsen is one of the rulers of the rich, powerful and secretive Saudi royal family. Director Lionel Mills gains unique access to the Prince for Inside the Saudi Kingdom, revealing the conflicts between tradition and modernity. As the country wrestles with modernisation and digital technology, can it maintain its Bedouin and Islamic traditions? |
It is from 2008, and I saw it then. I also just saw it again now, and it was good to see it again as I had forgotten some of it.
Might be of special interest to some of the users here as they show a lot of Ha'il (the mentioned prince is the ruler of Ha'il Province), and even:
- Mishar housing compound!!!
- Inside one of the units at the compound
- The Caucasian head of the ESL department getting ready in her apartment, and giving an interview
- Interview with Dr. Naafa, the Vice Rector
The views of the desert made me quite nostalgic! (but not footage of the university, Mishar, or the streets)
Anyway, it is quite ironic and sad that some/many of the things that the prince says can be refuted by the very footage being shown of him going about his daily activities!
WATCH IT! |
